The Ben Avery Shooting Facility, in
conjunction with the Arizona State Rifle and Pistol Association and the National
Rifle Association, is offering the NRA FIRST STEPS ORIENTATION program for new
gun owners. This course addresses firearms safety and basic orientation
for individuals and families who want to know more about their pistol and/or
rifle. Each of us are concerned about our personal safety. This 3
hour class is dedicated to the new shooter. If you are not familiar with
firearms and feel you need to know more, this is the place to start. You
owe it to yourself and your family.

About the Class:
This 3 hour class consists of classroom
training and a range session. Classes are held at the Ben Avery Shooting
Facility. Each student will be supplied with instructional handouts that
make excellent reference and refresher material.
Shooting instruction includes the firing
of live ammunition in a practice session under the supervision of NRA Certified
Instructors. Students are to bring their own firearms and factory
ammunition.
Two separate classes are offered, one for
pistol, the other for rifle. Classes are offered monthly.

Class size is limited.
Pre-registration is required. Payment is due at the time of registration.
Pistol class students must provide their
own pistol and 50 rounds of factory ammunition. Reloads are
prohibited.
Rifle class students may provide their own
rifle. A limited number of .22 caliber single shot rifles are available
for use during the class, at no charge, if reserved in advance. Rifle
class students must also provide 50 rounds of factory ammunition.
