PROCEDURE
FOR: HUNTER
EDUCATION CLASSES
1. All Hunter
Education Classes using the Ben Avery Shooting Facility must be separately
registered as a BASF User Group. This requires each primary instructor to
complete a USER GROUP AGREEMENT prior to reserving a range and use of range.
2. At the time
the User Group Agreement is completed, each primary instructor will be given a
range use packet and is expected to know and have all class participants follow
all facility and range safety rules at all times. If violations of safety rules
occur, a Notice of Incident may be issued. This action will be forwarded to the
Arizona Game and Fish Department's Hunter Education Coordinator.
3. A RESERVATION
REQUEST form will be filed out for each class. On the form, the primary
instructor is to specify ranges for courses of fire, if the hunter education
trail is needed, if the Conservation Education classroom is needed, and any
other requirements. If a reservation is not made in a timely manner, BASF cannot
promise availability, due to demand. We require a 30 day notice for
reservations.
4. Each primary
instructor will receive an invoice for the class. There is no charge to use the
facility for Hunter Education Classes; however, the primary instructor must
document the required diversity questions and return the invoice to the Main
Range Office, or the Rangemaster. A clean up
fee may be assessed to the primary instructor if the Facility is not left
in a clean condition.
5. Firearms must
be checked-out from the Rangemaster. Please allow extra time to checkout and
transfer these firearms. When the class is completed, the firearms will be
cleaned and checked-in to the armory with the Rangemaster.
6. Field Supplies
such as mats, target frames, 3D animals, pop up targets- are in the Hunter
Education shed.
