FACILITY PROCEDURE

AUTHORIZED CAMPERS:

· The campground is for use by shooters utilizing the Ben Avery Shooting Facility.

· Campers who are not match participants, taking firearms training classes, nor participating in a Facility event, must shoot at the Main Range, the Archery Ranges, or the Clay Target Center a minimum of every other day. This daily fee must be paid in advance for one day of shooting for every two days of camping.

· All camping will be on numbered pads (campsite). More than one unit may camp on a campsite.

· Campers must camp on the numbered pads they were assigned.

· Switching of campsites is prohibited.

RESERVATIONS:

· Campsites may be reserved on a "first come, first served" basis at least 24 hours in advance.

· No one may reserve more than one campsite.

· Campers arriving after hours will be given an access code for the east gate, but no more than two days in advance.

· If reservations are not claimed by 8 a.m. the following day, the campsite will be reassigned.

· Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance.

· Check out time is 12 p.m. If campers stay later than the check out time, they will be billed for an extra day unless they make arrangements with the Facility Office before check out time. The Facility schedules campsites from 12 p.m. to 12 p.m. Failure to check out and vacate the site creates difficulty with the next camper, and will result in additional fees.

RATES:

· Fees must be paid in advance at the Facility Office.

· Maximum stay limit is 14 days.

· Fees are for individual camps, not campsites. More than one camp may be on a campsite.

· $25.00 daily fee for electrical and water hookup

· $10.00 daily fee for no hookups with RV, camper, trailer, or tent.

· $ 5.00 daily fee for tents in the Primitive Camp (special events only).

· Failure to pay fees will result in vehicle impoundment.

· Fees are not refundable.

· Stealing of utilities

FACILITIES:

· The campground has 133 campsites, three restrooms with showers, one pay phone, and two fire rings. 54 sites have water and 20, 30, and 50 AMP electrical hookups. 55 sites have no utilities, and 24 sites are for overflow use. See Procedure # 100600 and # 100700 for camping off site.

ACCESS:

· The campground is accessible from the north gate during range hours. The east entrance is for after hours use.

· A gate code will be provided upon arrangement with the Facility Office to those arriving after 4 p.m., or wishing to leave and return to the campground during their stay.

· The west bathroom is designated as handicapped accessible.

HOURS:

· Campground is open for check-in from 8 am to 4 pm. Arrangements with the Facility Office must be made if arrival time is outside these hours.

· Quite hours are from 10 pm to 6 am. No disruptive behavior is allowed on the facility at any time.

SAFETY AREA:

· SITES 14-19 AND 64-68 ARE CLOSED DURING HIGH POWER LONG-RANGE USE.

FIRES:

· Fires are restricted to charcoal in above ground grills. Campers may use personal propane or charcoal grills. Open fires are restricted to the two fire pits. These may be used only upon approval from the Facility Office. Campers must ensure that charcoal fires in grills are completely put out with water before leaving site. Cold ash cans are provided by each trash container for the deposit of cold ashes.

SANITATION:

· Only campground guests may discharge into dump station.

· Guests may dump both gray and black water into dump station.

· "Gray water" discharge is prohibited at campsites.

· Only facility guests may use restrooms and showers.

SOLID WASTE:

· All solid waste will be placed in provided trashcans.

· Campers will leave their campsite in a clean condition. A fee will be assessed for dirty campsites.

· During normal usage, a trash container is provided next to the dump station. For large events, trash containers are provided at each restroom.

· Cold ash cans are provided by each trash container. Cold ashes from the BBQ grills must be deposited into these cans.

PETS:

· All pets must be kept on leash. Owner will remove pet waste.

STORAGE:

· No on site storage of property is permitted. There are no long-term campground site rentals.
